Not Plastic. Not Wood. It's TruGrain, made with Resysta

TruGrain™ made with Resysta®. Why? Simply stated, TruGrain offers the warmth and feel of real wood, but it also embodies the sustainability and wearability that natural hardwoods lack. TruGrain also stands apart from wood composites because it is a bio-based wood substitute. One touch demonstrates the difference.

Natural Endurance. Limitless Innovation.
TruGrain is a highly durable and sustainable fiber reinforced hybrid material, that looks and feels like wood, and is produced of approx. 60% rice husks, approx. 22% common salt and approx. 18% mineral oil. This makes it both environmentally friendly as well as extremely weather resistant against sun, rain, snow or salt water. TruGrain products require minimal care and offer the look and feel of traditional wood. The “tropical wood feeling” fiber hybrid material is absolutely water resistant; therefore, cracks and splinters are a thing of the past. Additionally, insects and fungi cannot harm TruGrain products.

All these characteristics open a variety of possibilities in using TruGrain. Whether in outdoor furniture, floor coverings, decks of ships, house facades, wellness and wet areas. TruGrain is not subject to any fluctuations in size caused by humidity and therefore is perfectly suitable for surface treatment.

Sustainability: TruGrain takes agricultural waste and transforms it into a durable building product with many applications. Approximately 40% of the TruGrain proprietary formula is rice husks, a rapidly renewable resource in great supply. Common salt and mineral oil combined with the husks at extremely high temperatures yield a product that can be formed to almost any shape or size. TruGrain qualifies as a renewable resource and recycled content under sustainable building programs. TruGrain does not contain any wood and therefore does not contribute to deforestation. TruGrain can be finished in over 20 beautiful water-based stains and sealers.

TruGrain is extremely resistant and provides for an especially beneficial eco-balance

Wearability: Seen any 20-year-old wood decks lately? TruGrain does not crack, splinter, swell, rot or discolor. Insects don’t seem to like TruGrain either, making it pest and fungal resistant. It is also water-proof, even against saltwater, so its lifespan is considerably longer than wood. Sun, rain, hail, snow and extreme temperatures have no impact on TruGrain, making it a great choice for any environment. The surface is also slip-resistant – perfect for bare feet.

Maintenance: Unlike its PVC counterparts, spot damage on TruGrain can be repaired. It can be sanded, stained and sealed, just like real wood. Exceptional durability combined with easy maintenance makes TruGrain ownership easy.

Aesthetics: The longest list of product attributes means nothing if the look and feel is all wrong. TruGrain’s biggest selling point is aesthetics. The material components and extruding process result in a product that is virtually indistinguishable from the tropical hardwoods so popular in construction today. Typical applications of TruGrain are decking, porch boards, siding and facades, but it’s well-suited for windows, paneling, shutters, fencing and outdoor furniture. One touch and it’s clear, TruGrain is the better wood.
